Open Day
On Wednesday, 3rd February 9am to 12.30pm we will hold an 'Open Day'. This is an opportunity for current and future friends and family to visit the school and see classes in action, school activities from both our middle school and primary school. ?You will be able to meet our staff, students and parents and find out more about our learning programmes and environment.
Chinese New Year Celebration
To celebrate Chinese New Year we will be holding a special Chinese New Year celebration assembly on Friday, 5th February at 9am. We wish to invite all parents to join us and share the joyful atmosphere of Chinese New Year together. Students will perform traditional songs, dance and demonstrate some Chinese games.
Students are welcome to wear traditional Chinese clothes to add more festive flavour to the celebration.
Lunch Time Concert
On Friday 5th February at 1.30pm there will be a lunch time concert in the music room. Students who are currently learning an instrument are invited to perform a piece at this informal concert. It is an opportunity to play in front of other students in a relaxed, fun environment. Parents are warmly invited to attend. Every performer will receive a certificate and surprise treat!
All students must play their piece for Ms. Yemm in their music lesson next week if they wish to perform in this concert so please bring your instrument and music to school. Please return your form to Ms. Yemm by Friday 29th January. Only students who return there form will be able to take part.
Movie Day
On Wednesday 10th February the SRC will hold a Movie morning. They will be screening movies for the students and selling snacks. This is also a ¡°free dress day¡± when students do not need to wear school uniform. The SRC are charging a small fee ¨C 10rmb for free dress and 5rmb each for popcorn, candy, drinks and chips - all money raised will go to supporting Suzhou Children¡¯s Cancer Hospital.
Model United Nations (MUN)
Some of our MYP students will be attending a MUN conference in Nanjing on 5th and 6th February. This is a wonderful opportunity for them to meet other students, develop public speaking skills and learn more about different countries and how the UN works. I¡¯m sure they will do a great job of representing the school.
Middle School Spring Celebration
On Friday, 5th March EtonHouse will be hosting a formal dinner for our middle school students at the Shangri-La hotel. We have also invited Dulwich students to this event. This will be a great opportunity for students of both schools to meet and have fun in a formal setting.
Year 6 Exhibition
As part of the PYP programme year 6 students, complete their Primary Years with an exhibition. This year¡¯s theme is ¡°Sharing the Planet¡± and the students will present their work to the community on Friday 21st May. |
